FORM A TEAM

Playing in the NS5 football league could not be easier. Your 5-a-side team can be mixed, just boys or girls.

We request that each player is in the same school year, and we recommend having 5-8 players in your team to allow for substitutions and absences.  We accept players from all primary and secondary schools but suggest a team consist of players in the same school year. A player may play "up" a league with this decision agreed by the team manager, players and parental consent is given.

Teams will be entered into age-appropriate leagues – so there is a league for everyone! The most important thing you need to agree on is your team's name!

Here are some steps to support you through our registration process:

Appoint a Manager

The team requires a manager to support the team administration. A parent/coach usually works well in this role. The manager will be responsible for team sign up and match day management.

SELECT YOUR PLAYERS

Teams are formed through friendships at school, sports clubs, or in your neighbourhood. So select between 5-8 players and agree on a team name. We require teams to enter school year group leagues so please consider this.

CHOOSE YOUR VENUE

We are currently in the process of launching a number of venues over the next year, so please select your chosen venue during registration and stay in touch for more venues coming soon!

COMPLETE REGISTRATION

Please register your team.  We will require specific information for each individual player such as date of birth. We suggest using our player invitation and sending this to the team manager. Payment will be taken at registration.

PLACE YOUR KIT ORDER

To create unity amongst NS5 players we ask players to wear the NS5 shirt during match play. You will have the opportunity to order shirts via our website after team registration. To further support your team we will include 2 extra tops.

STAY INFORMED

Please do stay in touch and up to date. Upon sign up you will have an account giving you access to fixtures and timings. We also have social media platforms on TikTok and Instagram search ns5.football which provide further information.

HOW THE LEAGUE WORKS?

Each venue plays fixtures on a specific day of the week. These are shown on this VENUES heading of this page along with time slots each year groups match fixtures.

We advise arriving 10 minutes before your fixture to prepare and have your pre-match warmup and talk. All matches will begin on time. Should your team arrive late a fixture may have to be forfeited.

It's important to note that times, playing formats and seasonal schedules can differ significantly across our venues. To get the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your chosen playing venue, we encourage you to refer to the dedicated VENUES section.  Here you'll find details for each location, including specific playing times, formats and season duration.

Upon completing registration your team will be given NS5 football tops which include the team name, and we request these are worn on match days. The home team will be selected to wear bibs for the games. Players can wear their own shorts/trackpants, socks, and are advised to wear shin guards and play in appropriate footwear such as Astro boots or trainers.  Please note metal studs are not permitted. Goalkeepers are advised to wear trousers/long sleeve top and gloves for protection. Goalkeepers may also require a cap in sunny weather.

  • Parents should remain present before, during, and after the match to oversee and manage their child/team. Parents must remain in the designated areas and must not enter the playing pitch at any time. NS5’s coaching team will support with injuries but can’t administer any medication so please consider this.

The NS5 approach is for children to play football through collaboration, enjoyment and personal growth.  Children join us for football fixtures where every player proudly wears the NS5 football top which provides a symbol of unity. This allows players to focus on the game rather than the pressures that can arise from differing kits and badges. We therefore create a space where children feel equal and valued, promoting inclusivity amongst players and a sense of community.

Our professional, qualified coaches and referees will lead all NS5 fixtures. Teams are advised to appoint a team manager. The managers role will be to have the team arrive on time, manage players minutes and support in a positive way.

The NS5 team will check players are the correct age and wearing appropriate kit to participate in game play. Players are not permitted to wear jewellery.  We are letting our pitches from 3rd party suppliers who are responsible for the playing surface, goals and fencing within the pitch area. NS5 are therefore not liable for any injury arising from such. NS5 will not accept liability for any data breaches & payment issues at registration, this lies with League Republic - a division of DJH Technology Ltd - registered in England and Wales, company number 4641708. There registered office is: DJH Technology Ltd, Granville House, 2 Tettenhall Rd, Wolverhampton WV1 4SB, United Kingdom.

The NS5 league is structured around year groups which follows a tier system and shadows a similar format as the English Football League. This format enables fair competition for all players and teams. We have a mixed league, and teams will be assigned to age appropriate leagues. We endeavour to support the player’s experience and will work to ensure that teams are matched in playing experience. This process is not always immediate and will need support from all parties at the end of each season.  Teams will be promoted and relegated dependent on league size. At the end of the season awards will be celebrated for outstanding teams and outstanding individual performances.

  • At NS5, we understand that every venue is unique which is why we adhere to specific playing formats and rules tailored to each venue. Our priority is to maximise the experience for all players while ensuring fair play and enjoyment. Given the varying pitch layouts and time constraints, we've developed guidelines to suit each venue. To learn more about each playing format in place please visit our VENUES section and select the further information button where our operations and expectations can be reviewed.
  • It is important to note that prices may vary across different locations. To ensure you have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding match fees, we encourage you to visit the VENUES section. Each venue has its specific pricing based on various factors such as location and facilities.
